This course, conducted in collaboration with the University of Maryland, helped students gain an intercultural understanding of child development and poverty in different contexts: the United States and Chile. This course was project-based, with students working in international teams composed of 2 American students and 2 Chilean students. The topics covered during the semester included:
- Conceptualizations of poverty in the United States and Chile
- Demographic data from both countries
- Public policies to combat poverty
- Empirical research on the impact of poverty on children and adults in various domains.
